Hurst Constructions Queensland delivered the construction, fit out and external finishes of a world-class ferric oxide plant for the $455M expansion of Sun Metals Corporation Zinc Refinery. Approximately 60,000 tonnes per year of iron oxide, containing approximately 50% iron, is produced by the Sun Metals zinc refining process, within the ferric oxide plant. The iron oxide is suitable for use in a range of industries including cement, steel, paint and pigment manufacture.
