A major step forward for heavy engineering in North Queensland. Hurst Constructions QLD is proud to have delivered this state-of-the-art facility for Wulguru Group, designed to support the resources industry with precision and scale. Completed last year, this 170,000m² industrial site features an 8,500m² heavy fabrication workshop equipped with 10 overhead cranes, each with 9 meters under hook and a lifting capacity of up to 40 tonnes. A 2,000m² paint and blast facility was also constructed, incorporating modern, environmentally compliant blasting and painting systems. Strategically positioned alongside the Mount Isa rail line and western highway, the site is ideally located to service the North West Minerals Province. Development of the remaining land is already underway, set to include a 10-road wagon maintenance facility, a rail wheel workshop, and a dedicated locomotive maintenance area. With this milestone complete and the next phase taking shape, the future of heavy engineering in North Queensland looks stronger than ever. Comments are closed.
