 Experience matters, but relevant experience matters more. On paper, a commercial project in North Queensland can look much the same as one in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. The reality of delivering it is very different.

As a Townsville-based construction company working across North Queensland, we believe supporting the communities we build in is just as important as the projects we deliver. This March, our team is once again taking part in the 86K challenge to help raise awareness, funds and support for families facing childhood cancer.  Talk about a wheely big win!
Marissa Papageorge from the Hurst team has pedalled her way into our hearts by conquering the epic 374km Townsville to Cairns Charity Bike Ride and has contributed to raising a phenomenal $300,000 for the Children’s Cancer Institute!  “They kept calling for Malcolm over the loudspeaker, and it took a lot of ignored calls and confusion for everyone to figure out Malcolm was actually Martin,” Martin Brooke told us with a laugh. “After ten years, they’re still getting my name wrong!”
This season's youth Athletics Carnival perfectly showcased Martin Brooke, our Chief Construction Operations Officer, and his remarkable ability to turn any situation into a light-hearted and enjoyable experience. As the event’s dedicated timekeeper, he was at the centre of a humorous mix-up. Despite the repeated calls for “Malcolm,” Martin took it all in stride, laughing and making light of the situation. |
